Popis: | In the present study Eu2O3 doped Li2O–Si2O–B2O3 glasses (LSBE) were synthesized by the melt quench technique. The physical, thermal, and spectroscopic properties of prepared glasses by various techniques have been investigated in this work. The powder X-ray diffraction study confirms the amorphous nature of glass samples. The various absorption bands assigned were observed from ground level 7F0 to various excited states within the 4f shell. Emission spectra exhibit bands in the visible region from 450 to 750 nm. The spectra show some sharp peaks belongs to 4f electronic transitions of Eu3+ ion at 5D0 → 7F0 (578 nm), 5D0 → 7F1 (590 nm), 5D0 → 7F2 (614 nm), 5D0 → 7F3 (652 nm), and 5D0 → 7F4 (701 nm). The band at 614 nm corresponds to 5D0 →7F2 transition is hypersensitive among all bands. From the CIE chromaticity diagram, the glass sample LSBE-5 shows the highest emission intensity with color coordinates x = 0.56, y = 0.33 among all glass samples. |
