Popis: Image formation in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) has been used to provide data that is easier to interpret than hyperbolic traces in B-scans. A limitation of past work is a tendency to produce quite low contrast images. In this work a normalised geometric mean analysis is used that provides a higher contrast image. Its use on simple target scenarios is initially investigated. Then the more commonly encountered and testing cases of layered ground and of significantly inhomogeneous ground resulting from a finite porosity or void density are examined in this paper
