Popis: The Australian fisheries and aquaculture: Outlook to 202627 contains projections of the value of Australian fisheries and aquaculture production and exports, including for the key species rock lobster, salmonids, abalone, tuna and prawns. The report highlights that aquaculture is expected to grow faster than the wild-catch sector, supported by favourable demand conditions expected to result in growth of aquaculture salmonid GVP through growth in domestic prices, as well as higher production volumes of aquaculture abalone, prawns and oysters. Favourable demand-side conditions are expected to resume as the economic and public health shocks of COVID-19 begin to dissipate and consumer confidence returns. By 202627, aquaculture is forecast to account for 61% of the total value of Australian fisheries and aquaculture GVP with salmonid production continuing to dominate the sector.
