Popis: To estimate the risk of hearing loss for those employed in noisy industrial plants an investigation has been carried out among those employed in a large repair shop for railway rolling stock. The investigation was based on individual noise analysis by noise dosimeter. This pilot investigation of individual sound exposure measurement emphasises the importance of including individual noise dosimeter as a routine method. The dosimeter has proved to be exceptionally well adapted to show those persons who throughout a full working day are exposed to injurious noise loads of varying intensity. The use of the dosimeter has been immediately accepted by the persons exposed to noise, who through the immediate use of this instrument feel that their complaints of noise problems are immediately followed up.
