Popis: | A new closed form analytical solution for a laminated cylindrical shell with lateral pressure and axial load is presented. The solution includes nonlinear effects due to large deformations after the manner of Timoshenko. The solution also includes the effects of pre-stress such as is encountered with the filament winding of composite pressure vessels. The solution allows the analysis of symmetric and asymmetric stacking sequences. The derivation of the solution is presented. Special cases for the solution are discussed. Several examples are presented for two different stacking sequences; the effects of length, loading conditions, and pre-stress are studied. |
