Popis: | Lumpkin & Dess (2001), an US field study linking entrepreneurial orientation (EO) to firm performance, has had – and still has – considerable impact on theory and practice. However, it is widely suggested and generally confirmed that the value added of an EO differs under different environmental conditions. We therefore propose to replicate this cornerstone study in a large number of countries that differ considerably from one another in terms of their formal and informal institutional environment, whilst following the original research design. A subsequent moderated meta-analysis aims at determining the boundary conditions under which firms’ EO is most conducive to their performance. In designing the replication plan, we carefully went through the seven decision points of the common replication framework as outlined by Walker et al. (2018). We conclude that it is feasible to replicate Lumpkin & Dess (2001), but that we need to take care of internal and construct validity in doing so. |
