This chapter focuses on the numerical solution of the wave equation. Partial differential equations play a key role in many fields of science and engineering. Recently, however, the emergence of massively parallel computer systems has suggested an alternative computational approach. Many classical numerical methods are not intended for multiprocessor systems. We devote this paper to the investigation of new numerical methods for solving equations in partial derivatives with parallel computer systems using. The basic idea is founded on the assumption that the mesh function is monotonous and consistently bypasses the solution area in different directions. It is demonstrated that the application of the proposed method on large meshes is more preferable than the known methods. |
