Popis: The “#CIDADEOLIMPICA” sculputure, installed at Praca Maua-Rio de Janeiro-RJ, shows how the relationship between men and physical public space has incorporated the virtual public space. Inaugurated in 2015, at the same time as the requalification design of the square was, it refered to the slogan used by the time the city hosted the Olympic Games and it stimulated organic dissemination by people since it incorporated interactive elements of viral marketing, virtually operated. This article discusses the close relationship between physical and virtual spaces resulted by informatization, its influences on public art, and its support for collective identity. Even though it involves the debate around its nomenclature, meanings and purposes, the sculpture has attributed symbolic and use values to the square space.
