Popis:	With the use of a modified microvascular corrosion casting technique in healthy eye-bank eyes from a 77-year-old woman 9 hours post mortem, a large communication between the central retinal and posterior ciliary arterial systems was demonstrated. The communication was seen within the retrobulbar optic nerve bilaterally. These types of vascular anatomical variations may explain part of the variability of blood flow patterns within the anterior optic nerve.
