Popis: | The attenuation of microwaves and millimetre waves for radiometric studies and LOS (line of sight) links etc. are mainly controlled by water vapour and other precipitation particles. So, this paper is concerned with measuring the vertical distribution of water vapour, especially for radiometric studies. The analyses were carried out to find out the relative contribution of water vapour at different altitudes towards the integrated water vapour content. The correlation coefficient of the temporal variation of water vapour density with the variation of integrated water vapour content has been found to be a maximum in the height range 1.5 to 2.5 km. This maximum correlation enables one to conclude that this height range may play an important role in determining the diurnal variation of the integrated water vapour content. It has been discussed in the light of vertical transportation of water vapour. |
