Popis: Classic color difference measurement paradigms model observing conditions in which an observer has time to inspect a visual field and make a careful judgment. We report data collected at three color locations using a new paradigm that extends color difference measurement to conditions in which the observer must make color difference judgments quickly to targets seen within a complex spatial scene. On each trial, observers are briefly presented with a stimulus composed of many objects. One of these objects, the target, may differ in color from the others, the distractors. The observer is uncertain about the precise location of the target and distractors. The observer reports whether all the objects are the same color and d' is calculated from these responses.
