This chapter addresses an issue that is very relevant, but not often studied – the importance of extracurricular activities, in particular the belonging to an International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi, the biggest society of this type) – to student development around the world. The focus of the work portrayed links data with positive psychology and the benefits that might emerge not only to the individual students enrolled and the promotion of their character strengths but also and mainly for the construction of positive nations and the moral character of a society. The authors are currently linked to universities and organizations in the USA: Mercedes A. McCormick, Grant Rich, Deborah Harris O’Brien, and Annie Chai. |
