Popis: The authors present results of an experimental investigation of vapor flow hydrodynamics under positive pressure gradient conditions leading to boundary layer separation and the occurrence of a reverse vortex flow region of vapor in the condensation zone of a planar heat pipe. The influence of a noncondensible gas on heat and mass transfer and the configuration of the vapor gas front is examined.
