Popis: This paper introduces a software system for automated lifecycle management and the design of strain gauge force sensors. The paper describes the working algorithm of the system and formulates the design objectives of the problem of designing strain gauge force transducers. The working algorithm uses the methodology of Parameter Space Investigation (PSI), methods of multicriteria optimization, as well as Finite Element simulations. The design objectives’ values are calculated using a surrogate model based on the results of Finite Element studies of the force sensor being designed. The software system implementing the algorithms mentioned above gives the Decision Maker excellent design flexibility. A case study demonstrates the efficiency of the system. The case study results obtained using the software are compared to those obtained using conventional techniques for multicriteria optimization. The developed software can be used to design various strain gauge force sensors, including multi-axis force sensors for space robots and other aerospace applications.
