Popis: | Quality largely decides the time frame of realistic usability before providing a cost for fruits or vegetables. Consequently, quality checking and testing of products have prime importance in various stages of processing. For decades visual inspection and destructive methods are chosen for the quality assessment of fruits and vegetables. Technological Advancement has lead to the development of various mechanical, optical, electromagnetic and non-destructive techniques. They succeed due to their simplicity and faster response time, noninvasive and reliable results. Some of the imaging techniques are utilized by food industries for quality evaluation of agriculture products. Current review paper briefly elaborates the principles of Hyperspectral imaging, Raman imaging, MRI imaging and Laser backscattering imaging. The recent application methods in the fruit quality assessment are also presented. In addition to that, the scope of Thermal imaging in fruit quality assessment is also discussed. |
