Popis: | Leucoemeraldine base having a crystallinity Xc = 40% was obtained by thermal annealing up to 300°C of its amorphous form. WAXD pattern of leucoemeraldine base is interpreted on the basis of a monoclinic unit cell having a 2/m Laue symmetry containing four monomer units: a = 8.34(5), b = 5.21(4), c = 9.52(8), A , β = 93.2(6)° . A new crystalline structure, ES-I-1 (Xc = 48%), of emeraldine hydrochloride (E.HCl) having a Cl/N mole ratio of ∼ 2/3 was obtained by cyclic annealing of the E.HCl (ES-I form) in 1M HCl between 25 and 100°C. WAXD pattern of ES-I-1 is interpreted on the basis of a tetragonal unit cell having a 4/m Laue symmetry: a = b = 13.4(0), c = 6.27(6) A . |
