Popis: | The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference between school districts using computerized and noncomputerized Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) on the attitudes of teachers towards IEPs, the time spent by teachers writing and preparing IEPs, and the cost per IEP. Teachers from twelve randomly selected districts in Massachusetts were involved in the study. Analysis of the data indicated that teachers in districts using computerized IEP systems spent less time writing IEPs and had a more favorable attitude toward the IEP for instructional planning than did teachers using noncomputerized IEP systems. In addition, the cost per IEP for computerized districts was less than the cost for noncomputerized districts. Implications of these results and areas in need of further investigation are discussed. |
