Popis:	The behavior of a seismically isolated building (with rolling support as the isolation element) equipped with tapered dry-friction dampers (wedgeblocks) is described. A specific engineering design is proposed for the dry-friction wedgeblock, where the properties of a heavy “flat” damper are preserved in dampers of comparatively small mass.
