Popis: | For amorphous Cu50Ti50, elastic properties at room temperatures were investigated in a wide range of strain e in 10−6∼10−3, which allowed us to study Young's modulus for ideal elasticity Ee and the inelastic strain component ei separately. Effects of thermal annealing were investigated for the elastic properties, specimen length and X-ray diffraction. Free volume vf in the as quenched state was found to be 0.8% in atomic volume, and after a disappearance of vf Ee increased by 6% and eit decreased by 22% where eit denotes the saturation value of ei at e⋍2×10 −3 . In crystalline phase, during equilibration following crystallization, the X-ray diffraction peaks from crystalline CuTi became sharper, and Ee showed a drastic increase and eit a decrease. |
