Numerical analysis of ship motions for an offshore vessel

Popis: The ship motion in incident regular waves and irregular waves respectively is investigated by means of 3D source distribution method. Numerical simulations are performed using the potential flow solver from Bureau Veritas, Hydrostar based on 3D discretized model of immersed part of hull. A platform supply vessel at zero speed is investigated. The influence on the ship response of linear viscous damping coefficient, used by the computational model, is brought into attention.
