Popis: | ION Engineering, a leading developer of carbon dioxide capture technology recently demonstrated its leading amine-based solvent system at the National Carbon Capture Center (NCCC) as part of DE-FE0013303. Objectives of ION – NCCC testing were to evaluate the ION solvent over the course of >1,000 hr continuous testing in a real process environment. The pilot solvent test unit (PSTU) at NCCC was utilized with minimal modification to evaluate the ION solvent with coal-fired flue gas, which is a slipstream of an 880 MW. In a combined effort, engineers and operators from ION and NCCC successfully operated the ION solvent in the PSTU for the duration of ION's 1,100 hr test window, providing the necessary information for evaluation of ION's solvent technology. |
