For the improvement of piezoelectric properties, alkali-earth (AE) ion (Ba 2+ )-substituted La 3 Ta 0.5 Ga 5.5 O 14 (LTG) crystals with chemical formula of La 3− x Ba x Ta 0.5+ x /2 Ga 5.5− x /2 O 14 (LBTG) were investigated. Solid solution range and congruency of the LBTG was examined by the powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the differential thermal analysis (DTA), which enables the selection of a suitable starting composition for the micro-pulling-down (μ-PD) growth, respectively. Based on these data, LBTG single crystals have been grown, as a function of molar ratio of x , by the μ-PD technique. |
