Popis: The development of 3-D ultrasound imaging is a way to address the disadvantages of conventional ultrasound imaging. In this article the authors review approaches that have been attempted in the development of 3-D ultrasound imaging such as 3-D B-mode, color Doppler, and power Doppler systems. Acquisition, reconstruction, and rendering techniques for 3-D imaging are discussed, as well as applications and limitations.
