Since 2007, the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary (PDE) has been engaged in developing a regional approach for prioritizing restoration, protection and enhancement projects in the Delaware Estuary. The PDE works with multiple sectors and stakeholders in order to engage local expertise and resources and tap shared priorities that will support the successful restoration of the Delaware Estuary. Based on the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan (CCMP), and input from partners and stakeholders, PDE has identified the following as initial Regional Priorities: Signature Estuary Species; Forested Headwaters and Riparian Corridors; Tidal Wetlands; and Urban Waterfronts. The approach will use a two track process that engages both the PDE Alliance for Comprehensive Ecosystem Solutions and the Regional Restoration Workgroup, a subsidiary of the Science and Technical Advisory Committee. |
