Popis: Sinus vein thrombosis (SVT) of the brain is a rare disease. Recent evidence, however, suggests that it may be diagnosed more often once it is included into differential diagnostic considerations which then will lead to appropriate studies, eventually allowing the correct diagnosis to be made [4]. Apart from diagnostic difficulties, there is still a considerable lack of evidence to explain the underlying pathophysiologic mechanisms of cerebral SVT. For example, there is little known on the effect of SVT on cerebral blood flow (CBF). In fact, there is only one clinical report on regional CBF (rCBF) in SVT [9]. In this study, Shinohara et al. investigated three patients with SVT using the intracarotid 133Xe injection technique.
