Avaliação microbiológica de Cremes Lanette® produzidos e comercializados por farmácias de manipulação de Visconde do Rio Branco, MG

Popis: Compounding pharmacy is an establishment with the purpose of preparing compounding and officinal formulas. Emulsions are widely used in pharmaceutical formulations due to their excellent solubilization. Quality assessment must comply with pharmacopeia and appropriate current law. This study aimed to evaluate the microbiological aspects of semisolid emulsions made and marketed in the master pharmacies of Visconde do Rio Branco, MG. One sample of Lanette® Cream was purchased from each pharmacy in the city. Serial dilutions were made to count mesophilic bacteria, mold, and yeast. The samples were enriched for further evaluation of pathogen such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. The recorded data were statistically analyzed. There was no bacterial growth or the presence of specific pathogens in either sample at both times. The mold and yeast count did not exceed the limits defined by legislation. It can be stated that the Lanette® Creams manipulated by the pharmacies of this municipality did not show growth of the analyzed microorganisms beyond the ones defined by legislation, nor the presence of pathogenic microorganisms that should be absent. It can be concluded that these establishments are in accordance with the legislation and they follow RDC No67/07 concerning to microbiological aspect.
