A DWBA analysis of polarization analysing powers and differential cross sections for the (p, d) reaction on 28Si and 40Ca

Popis: The reactions 28 Si(p, d) 27 Si and 40 Ca(p, d) 39 Ca have been studied using a 30.5 MeV polarized proton beam. For the ground state transitions, polarization analysing powers and differential cross sections have been measured over a wide angular range. These data are compared with DWBA calculations for which optical-model parameters were obtained from analyses of deuteron elastic scattering data for 27 Al and 40 Ca. Agreement between the theoretical and experimental (p, d) differential cross sections and analysing powers for 28 Si(p, d) 27 Si is good. For the 40 Ca(p, d) 39 Ca reaction, reasonable agreement is obtained only by using a deuteron optical potential derived from a coupled-channels analysis of the (d, d) and (d, p) reactions on 40 Ca.
