Popis: Summary Mycena Section Lactipedes appears to be rare in Australia, with only two species known. Mycena galopus var. mellea is raised to species status. A nom. nov. is necessary as the epithet ‘mellea’ is already occupied. A new species, Mycena thunderboltensis, is described. Both species have characters at variance with Section Lactipedes as defined by Maas Geesteranus: basidiospore shape, and (in the latter species) marginate lamella-edges and presence of latex in the pileus.
