Nowadays Industrial Engineering is one of the most popular professions in the world and in our country. This study assumes that both definition of Industrial engineering and acts of Industrial engineers are not well known, therefore, aims at measuring the awareness of Industrial Engineering in Turkey. In this study questionnaires are used as a data collection tool. The survey was answered face to face and on the internet by 300 people in July and August 2018. Initially, the questions were planned to be 20, but as a result of the factor analysis, it was considered appropriate to drop 17. The questions measure whether participants can accurately evaluates the definition of engineering or they know abilities of a person who graduated of the Department of Industrial Engineering. The questions measure that whether participants can accurately evaluate the definition of industrial engineering or how much they know about abilities of a person who graduated of the Department of Industrial Engineering. The results of the survey were analyzed by ANOVA and t Test methods and the results were interpreted. As a result of the survey, according to the assumptions of the study, it concluded that neither definition of Industrial Engineering nor abilities of a person who graduated of the department of Industrial Engineering are known in Turkey. |
