The effect of a.c. frequency on precipitation in Al-5.6 at % Zn

Popis:	The effects of alternating electric current on the formation of GP zones at 30° C from a supersaturated Al-5.6 at % Zn have been examined. The frequency of the applied current has been varied from 0 to 3000 Hz. A retarding effect has been observed for the frequencies 0, 25 and 100 Hz, while no appreciable effect has been observed for 200 and 3000 Hz. The results have been discussed on the basis of a current-assisted vacancy annihilation model in the presence of an alternating electric current.
