The Intramolecular Charge Transfer (ICT) rate in the excited state of 4‐(N‐monoaza‐15‐crown‐5) 4′‐cyano stilbene, a polar fluoroionophore of the stilbene‐crown series, has been measured by sub‐picosecond absorption spectroscopy from its complex with Ag+ in methanol and the results are compared with those reported from the complex with Ca2+ in acetonitrile and butyronitrile. In any case the ICT state occurs through three intermediates distinguished by their absorption spectra and lifetime. |
