Interaction of divalent metal ions with D-aldonic acids in the solid phase-II. Structural information

Popis: Complexes formed between d -glucoheptonate, d -galactonate, d -gulonate and d -ribonate, and several metal ions were obtained in the solid state. Specifically: d -glucoheptonates, Be(C 7 H 13 O 8 ) 2 · 1\2H 2 O, Mn(C 7 H 13 O 8 ) 2 · 2H 2 O, Co(C 7 H 13 O 8 ) 2 · 2H 2 O, Ni(C 7 H 13 O 8 ) 2 · 2H 2 O, Cu(C 7 H 13 O 8 ) 2 · 2H 2 O, Pb(C 7 H 13 O 8 ) 2 ; d -galactonates, Mn(C 6 H 11 O 7 ) 2 · 2H 2 O, Co(C 6 H 11 O 7 ) 2 · 3H 2 O, Ni(C 6 H 11 O 7 ) 2 · 3H 2 O, Cu(C 6 H 11 O 7 ) 2 , Pb(C 6 H 11 O 7 ) 2 ; d -gulonates, Co(C 6 H 11 O 7 ) 2 · H 2 O, Ni(C 6 H 11 O 7 ) 2 · 2H 2 O, Cu(C 6 H 11 O 7 ) 2 · 2H 2 O; d -ribonates, Mn(C 5 H 9 O 6 ) 2 , Co(C 5 H 9 O 6 ) 2 · 2H 2 O, Ni(C 5 H 9 O 6 ) 2 · 2H 2 O, Cu(C 5 H 9 O 6 ) 2 .2H 2 O and Pb(C 5 H 9 O 6 ) 2 have been isolated. These metal sugar salts were characterized by elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, FT–IR, diffuse reflectance and EPR spectroscopies.
