Transmission losses occur when power is transmitted from generators to load centres. These losses therefore, need to be fairly allocated for determining “fair” tariff. Most of the methods used for loss allocation employ load flow method to determine power flow on lines and injections at buses. Conventional load flow analysis does not enable the unbundling of transmission losses. This paper presents a quantum, non-iterative method based on Kirchoff state and power fractions which enables the unbundling of transmission losses. This paper also focuses on the comparative analysis of different existing loss allocation algorithms namely pro rata method, incremental allocation method, proportional sharing principle and in addition, power fraction method. Case study on comparison of all the four algorithms is presented for the standard IEEE 14 bus network. |
