Popis: Careful evaluation of student progress and teaching effectiveness is one of the most formidable tasks facing the foreign language teacher. Though some instructional materials provide evaluation instruments, many teachers prefer to construct their own quizzes and examinations tailored to their specific needs. Thus, following a discussion of significant test concepts, the writer conveys guidelines for planning and constructing test items, provides numerous examples for evaluating reading comprehension in both formal and informal settings, and makes suggestions for pre- and post-test activities.
