Popis: Nutrition is a fundamental aspect of life, and it is linked to multiple components, systems, and processes, including those occurring during diseases, such as infection. In this context, nutrition has a close relationship with infection. Malnutrition can lead to or increase the risk for infectious diseases, and many infectious diseases can contribute to malnutrition. The main objective of this article is to assess the relationship between nutrition and infections, with a focus on the impact of malnutrition on susceptibility to infection and the burden that infections and foodborne illness place on public health.
