Popis: A study of the structural-phase state of the surface layer of steel 45 after surface plastic deformation by a multiradius roller is presented. The methods of optical microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis were used, which made it possible to comprehensively study the samples in their initial state and after exposure to a plastic deformation tool. The application of these methods made it possible to determine the parameters of the structure of steel 45: the sizes of grains and subgrains, their uniformity, the fine structure of the treated surface, the location and dimensions of the intensely deformed layer formed as a result of processing with a multiradius roller.
