The article proposes an overview of Generacion Ano Cero, which is a term used from a heterodox perspective to encompass Cuban writers and artists who published their works from 2000, such as Orlando L. Pardo Lazo, Liuvan Herrera, Yansy Sanchez, Fabian Avila, Alessandra Santiesteban, Javier L. Mora, Rogelio Orizondo, Legna Rodriguez Iglesias, Gelsys Ma. Garcia Lorenzo, Yornel J. Martinez, Reynier Leyva Novo, Carlos Machado Quintela, Ranfis Suarez, Mabel Poblet, Paola Martinez, among others. The text analyzes the recontextualization of the mambi and Cuban revolutionary imaginary and sociolect, while discussing some of Gilberto Padilla and Walfrido Dorta's ideas. In addition, it focuses on other features of Generacion Ano Cero , such as hybridity, transgenericity, intertextuality, and glocalization. This study also addresses the transdisciplinary works of these artists, as well as their different forms of affiliation beyond the institutional and state framework (although they use the channels of legitimation and distribution of this framework), the creation of alternative art galleries or photography schools, the circulation of e-zines and digital magazines, and the establishment of audiovisual producers and semi-independent publishers. |
