Popis: The study was conducted for two successive years, 2008 and 2009, in three vineyards (A, B, C) of the Greek wine grape cultivar 'Agiorgitiko' (Vitis vinifera L.), located in the area of Nemea, north-east of the Peloponnese, Greece; A and B vineyards were grafted on 41B (V. vinifera × V. berlandieri) and Richter 110 (V. berlandieri × V. rupestris), respectively, whereas C was own-rooted. All vineyards included mature vines, bilateral cordon trained and spur-pruned (Royat), cultivated in soils with similar characteristics and underwent the same cultural practices; their yields did not vary significantly. In both years, whole leaf samples were collected at bloom, veraison and harvest and were analyzed in order to determine their concentrations in Ν, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu and Β. The results indicated that, regardless of the phaenological stage and year, the main effect of rootstock was the non-significant differentiation of leaf N, P and K. In contrast, Ca level was highest in vineyard C and lowest in A whereas Mg concentration was highest in B and lowest in C; the higher Ca and the lower Mg level in C could be attributed to the Ca-Mg antagonism. Moreover, based on the significant interactions between rootstock and phenological stage in case of K, Ca and Mg, K and Mg concentrations at veraison were highest in vineyard B whereas Ca was highest in C. Concerning micronutrients, at bloom, when the antagonism for nutrients between leaves and yield is low, no significant differences in the concentration of any micronutrient were determined; the only exception was the higher Mn level in vineyard C compared to A. In conclusion, the differences observed were few, with regard to the better Ca nutrition of own-rooted vineyards and the higher levels of K and Mg in grafted ones on R110.
