Popis: The effects of body curvature and panel strength variation on the rates of convergence of two-dimensionnal panel methods are re-examined to resolve several paradoxes arising from previous work. Flows past circular and elliptical cylinders, for which there are analytical solutions for the surface singularity distributions as well as for the velocity fields, are adopted as benchmark test cases to illustrate the results of the present analysis.
