Self-assembly of ion-paired electron-transfer centers in a clay-modified electrode

Popis: Electrochemical properties are reported for a montmorillonite-modified graphite electrode intersalated by the complex salt [Fe(bpy) 3 ] 2 Fe(CN) 6 ] at loadings in excess of the cation-exchange capacity of the clay. The presence of a multilayer assembler in the clay galleries was indicated by a basal spacing of ∼27 A, as compared to 17 A for homoionic Fe(bpy) 3 4- -montmorillonite.
