Popis: Acute nonsurgical pain affects many patients within diverse populations; it can affect many locations in the body and is commonly caused by trauma, injury, and illness. Inadequate management of acute pain has significant consequences both to the individual and society, and there are numerous factors that can contribute to inefficient pain management. Multiple modalities can be used to treat acute nonsurgical pain, including pharmacologic analgesia, regional anesthesia, alternative therapies, and multimodal analgesia.
