Popis: | Treatment of nido -7,8-C 2 B 9 H 12 − with N -halosuccinimide (halo=chloro, bromo or iodo) formed the corresponding nido -9,11-(halo) 2 -7,8-C 2 B 9 H 10 − ion in good yield. The nido -9,11-Br 2 -7,8-C 2 B 9 H 10 − ion was deprotonated with n -butyllithium and then reacted with cobalt(II) chloride to form the commo -3,3′-Co(4,7-Br 2 -3,1,2-CoC 2 B 9 H 9 ) 2 − ion. A single-crystal X-ray structure determination of this cobalt complex is reported. |
