Popis: | Bacteria contribute to corrosion in various ways. Therefore the consumption of cathodic hydrogen as well as the sulfide production of sulfate-reducing bacteria may influence the anaerobic corrosion of iron. Also methanogenic bacteria are able to use elemental iron as a source of electrons for carbon dioxide reduction. We have studied both processes and have got evidence that cathodic depolarisation does not play a dominant role in methanogenic habitats. |
