Normal heart continuously generates the pressure wave strong enough to enable good blood flow through all tissues, however too high pressure could induce damage to vessels. Simulating this function is a great challenge of ventricular assist device (VAD). We simulate this situation in vascular system without any dynamic vasoconstriction or vasodilatation and only one VAD is pumping the blood to/from one circuit. Despite of our radical simplifications it is possible to calculate the pressure wave curve from different known setting of the pulsatile pump and different known setting of nonreactive tissue in vascular system. The main goal of this work is to create a demonstrational user-friendly application which shows that there is not possible to use one setting of VAD for different groups of patients. |
