The maximum permissible heating temperature of conductive parts affect the switch operation in normal and emergency modes, due to the electrical resistance of the material from which they are made. A two-dimensional numerical model is proposed to analyze the thermal state of the disconnector-switch contacts, using the finite element method. It is used to analyze electrical and thermal fields to ensure reliability and safe operation. At the first stage, the contact radius of the switch and contact force are determined. Then the related thermoelectric current carrying system (CCS) is calculated for normal and emergency operation modes. The average values of the current and temperature densities of the system are determined. |
