Popis: Shear wall systems are one of the most commonly used lateral load resisting systems in high-rise buildings. Composite shear walls are a combination of steel and concrete sections, which unites the advantages of steel and concrete shear wall systems. The encased composite shear wall system studied here consists of stiffened steel sheets, shear studs, and stiffeners. This paper presents the study of lateral behavior of the stiffened type composite shear wall when the pattern of installation of shear studs, height to length ratio, stiffener spacing, varies. To evaluate the behavior of the composite shear wall in buildings, 3 m high models were analyzed and using this 3 m models, the stiffeners spacing and stud spacing were optimized. For evaluating the behavior of composite shear wall with different aspect ratios, analysis was done with models having different sizes. The whole analysis was done using ANSYS software.
