Popis: 1. Dimethylhexamethylenesilane is polymerized under the influence of aluminum chloride with an opening of the ring. Methylethylpentamethylenesilane, isomeric with it, undergoes disproportionation of the alkyl radicals under the same conditions. 2. Dimethylpentamethylenesilane (80% yield) and dimethylhexamethylenesilane (1–3% yield) are formed from α,Ω-bis(trimethylsilyl)penta- and -hexamethylene under the influence of aluminum chloride.
