Popis: The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (mmpi) is among the most widely used and best-researched assessment devices in clinical psychology, with over ten thousand studies addressing the test existing in the literature. Over the past 60 years it has been used in developing diagnostic, treatment, and occupational placement decisions, assessing personality structure, obtaining prognostic information, and detecting relative psychological strengths and weaknesses across a variety of clinical and normal populations. The purpose of this chapter is to provide the reader with an overview of the development, psychometric properties, and the clinical interpretation of the instrument, supplemented with a case study reflecting the application of the mmpi-2 in a psychiatric population.
