Popis: The kinematic and dynamic viscosities for binary systems of hexan-1-ol with the ortho-, meta-, and para-isomers of dimethylbenzenes have been determined at T = (303.15, 308.15, 313.15, 318.15, and 323.15) K and at atmospheric pressure, and are compared with those calculated by predictive and correlative models. The UNIFAC–VISCO and ASOG–VISCO models were used for the predictive calculations, while the McAllister, Andrade/DIPPR, Grunberg–Nissan and Teja–Rice models were used for the correlative approach. The calculated kinematic viscosities from the ASOG–VISCO model have better compatibility with the experimental values than those obtained from the UNIFAC–VISCO model. The individual contributions of constituent groups in the binary mixtures to the kinematic viscosity were underestimated in the UNIFAC–VISCO model, while they are predicted fairly well in the ASOG–VISCO model. The calculated kinematic viscosities with the McAllister model are in excellent agreement with experimental ones. The root-mean-square deviations from the experimental dynamic viscosity values with those calculated using the Andrade/DIPPR and Grunberg–Nissan models are comparable, while those for the Teja–Rice model are larger, which reflects the differences in the number of fitting parameters among those correlative models.
