Popis: In this article, we report the case of a patient who presented to our hospital with severe emetic syndrome caused by a large gastric tumour. The valvular mechanism of the lesion was in turn provoking the obstruction of the pylorus. Pathologic examination revealed an inflammatory fibroid polyp, a rare tumour affecting the gastrointestinal tract, usually of small size, which normally presents with gastrointestinal hemorrhage or intussusception. The large size of the lesion in this case and its presentation as an emetic syndrome make us consider this case as quite uncommon. We have also reviewed the clinical history of all patients diagnosed with inflammatory fibroid polyp in the stomach admitted in our hospital from 1998 to 2003.
